Roman Reigns Needs To Estrange Himself From The Shield

Roman Reigns definitely has the potential to be an all-time great legend. He has the athletic ability, physical stamina, strength, and the testicular fortitude necessary to be a great world champion. His rise to the top happened very quickly. After the Shield initially broke up and all three members went their own separate ways in 2014, Roman Reigns quickly made a name for himself as a singles star. He dominated the singles division for months and he went on to win the 2015 Royal Rumble. This is when the smart marks started to turn on him. Smart marks don't know shit about professional wrestling! They just latch on to the flavor of the month for a little while, and then when that person reaches the top, the smarks end up turning on them. They only like a wrestler when he happens to be an underdog. Even if a guy has absolutely no talent - such as Zack Ryder - the smarks will latch on to him until he becomes too big in their eyes (Zack Ryder never reached the big time). What the smarks don't want to admit is the fact that they were big Roman Reings fans for a two year period. From 2012-2014 when the Shield was feuding with John Cena, the smarks loved Roman Reigns by proxy of their hatred for John Cena. Speaking of John Cena - the smarks loved John Cena from 2003-2005 (when he was still a relative nobody), until Cena won the WWE title from JBL at WrestleMania 21 and entered his prime. When it was clear that John Cena was going to be one of the greatest of all time, the smarks turned on Cena. From 2005-2014, which was John Cena's prime, he absolutely dominated the entire roster, and the smarks couldn't handle the fact that this once underdog was now on the top of the mountain. There are of course a few exceptions: the smart marks never turned on Daniel Bryan; however, Bryan got injured within a month or two of his world title run after WrestleMania 30, so we'll never know if the smarks would've turned on him too. But back to Roman Reigns: the fans loved him when he was on his way to the top, but when he reached the peak, the smarks couldn't wait to see him fall. I believe Roman Reigns would've defeated Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 31 if Seth Rollins didn't cash in the money in the bank at the end of the match. The next year at WrestleMania 32, Roman Reigns solidified his status as a top notch star by defeating Triple H for the WWE championship. Just one year later, Roman Reigns accomplished the absolutely incredible feat of defeating the Undertaker at WrestleMania 33. Not even John Cena could beat the Undertaker at WrestleMania! Roman Reigns is one of only two men who has ever defeated the Undertaker at WrestleMania. This without a shadow of a doubt proves Roman Reigns has the skills to be one of the greatest of all time on his own. He doesn't need to associate himself with scum like Seth Rollins or Dean Ambrose. Sadly, a few weeks ago he decided to rekindle his friendship with his former Shield brothers. This is a huge mistake by Roman Reigns!

When the Shield first came on the scene in 2012, it was clear that they were a shady group. They attacked good wholesome men like John Cena, and the caused chaos in the WWE. It was even heavily implied that were allies of Paul Heyman - although this was never fully proven. In short, they were a bunch of assholes who did bad things to create a name for themselves. They weren't good men! They were bad. Real bad! However, when Seth Rollins turned on his Shield teammates in 2014, Roman Reigns decided to become a better man. He decided that he didn't want to be a bad guy anymore. He wanted to become THE GUY! He rehabilitated his image, and after a little while he become relatively clean-cut. Roman Reigns was never the nicest of guys; Roman Reigns was never as wholesome or as kid-friendly as John Cena - but Roman Reigns had definitely shed the filth from his Shield days and he had become a good person. Shortly after breaking away from the Shield he was a perennial main-event star at WrestleMania. All of his greatest accomplishments came when he wasn't with the Shield: his Royal Rumble win in 2015, his defeat of Triple H for the WWE title at WrestleMania 32, his defeat of the Undertaker at WrestleMania 33, his defeat of Brock Lesnar at Summerslam 2018 for the Universal title all came when he was NOT associated with the Shield. It's clear that the Shield held him back for a long time. Seth Rollins may be a very good athlete, but he's nowhere near as good as Roman Reigns. He had to cheat to win the WWE title! Seth Rollins is, quite frankly, a very scummy person. Dean Ambrose has very little natural skill, his physical looks are mediocre, and he definitely needs a shower - Dean Ambrose's personal hygiene is terrible. Roman Reigns doesn't need to associate himself with these people. He can do great things all on his own!

Unfortunately, Roman Reigns seems a little insecure at this point. He feels like he needs Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose to back him up. He doesn't feel like he can do it on his own. This is hurting his credibility and his image. Roman Reigns was well on his way to becoming a top 10 (possibly top 5) greatest wrestling star of all time, but now he is blowing it. The Shield doesn't send a good message to kids. It sends the wrong message: it's telling kids that they should cheat to win and that they can't accomplish great things on their own. This is the wrong message! Roman Reigns needs to quickly realize he made a mistake and wash his hands of the Shield. Please Roman Reigns break away from the Shield! Your legacy depends on it! At the end of your career your legacy should be that you were one the greatest wrestlers to ever lace up his boots, and that you were one of the best champions of all time - and that you were a first ballot WWE Hall of Famer! You're ruining everything by being a part of the Shield! You're going down a dark path! Please come back to the light!
