John Cena is the Greatest Wrestler of All Time

John Cena has been in the WWE for almost 16 years. In this time span he has won many titles: multiple United States championships, tag team championships, and he's a 17x world champion. No other wrestler has won more world titles than John Cena. Some people might say that it doesn't actually matter how many world titles a competitor has won. These people say that the length of each title reign and the caliber of their competition is the thing that matters. I actually agree with all this. I took all of this into consideration. Some people will pick Hulk Hogan or Bruno Samartino because of their world title reigns that lasted for multiple years. John Cena's longest title reign lasted a little over a year (he had to forfeit the title in October of 2007 due to injury; he had been champion since September 2006). John Cena never had a title reign that lasted four years straight like Hogan, but this doesn't matter in my opinion. The biggest factor of a great champion is the level of competition that he has had to face!

John Cena has defeated some of the best wrestlers ever to step foot in the squared-circle. He's beat the Rock, Brock Lesnar, Kane, Umaga, the Great Khali, Big Show, Chris Jericho, Triple H, Randy Orton, Batista, JBL, the Miz, Seth Rollins, Edge, Sheamus, RVD, and many more. No other wrestler in the history of WWE had to face so many great fighters. Futhermore, no other wrestler had to face the grueling schedule John Cena has had to face. John Cena works over 300 days a year. Currently it may be true that John Cena is slightly past his prime and doesn't wrestler as much as he used to, but when he was in his prime nobody wrestled more matches than John Cena. Nobody put their body on the line as much as John Cena. Nobody willingly put the title on the line as much as John Cena did. Hulk Hogan didn't have nearly as many title defenses in his prime as John Cena did. Hulk Hogan may have accomplished the greatest feat in wrestling history - defeating Andre the Giant at Wrestlemania 3 - but he didn't have as many epic triumphs as John Cena. This is just a fact. I think anybody would be hard pressed to disagree with me on this point. Did Hulk Hogan have to work the kind of schedule John Cena has worked? Did Hulk Hogan face as many great stars that John Cena has faced? Hulk Hogan beat many great wrestlers such as Macho Man Randy Savage, Ric Flair, Sting, Rowdy Roddy Piper, among others, but in my mind the list of the great athletes he defeated isn't nearly as expansive as John Cena's list. John Cena also defeated some wrestlers who Hulk Hogan could not defeat, such as Brock Lesnar and the Rock (granted Hogan was past his physical prime when he faced them).

John Cena has also been an excellent role-model for kids. As great of a wrestler as Cena is, he's an even better man. No person has granted more Make-A-Wish wishes than John Cena. John Cena is a family friendly entertainer, and he loves to inspire young people. This is the sign of an athlete who truly transcends his sport. Not many sports stars are able to do this. Only a select few inspire kids. Not even Ric Flair, even though he himself is one of the greatest of all time, was ever an inspirational figure for the youth.

John Cena is not only my favorite wrestler of all time, he truly is the GREATEST wrestler who has ever lived!
