The Star Wars Prequels Were Nearly Perfect

When it comes to Star Wars, the original trilogy can't be matched. I would never have the audacity to say that prequels were as legendary as the original trilogy, but I will say that the prequel trilogy was damn near a masterpiece. These three films were nearly perfect! If George Lucas had just ironed out a few things, the prequels could've been just as adored as the originals. To use a Baseball analogy, Lucas nearly hit a homerun but unfortunately the ball just died at the warning track. Lucas almost had another masterpiece on his hands, but he fell a little bit short. Yes, the prequel trilogy was actually very good, despite what many people think. It had a compelling story, many dramatic moments, tons of action, romance, beautiful music and many other great things! But why is it absolutely despised by many? It definitely has faults, which kept it from being an all-time classic set of films, but it definitely had more positive aspects then negative aspects. Let's dive in a...

AEW is Going To Start Another Monday Night War

In the mid-90s times were tough for WWE. Vince McMahon had just gone through the steroid trial that almost put him away in jail for many years. While Mr. McMahon was busy clearing his good name, he took his eye off the ball and let many things slip through his grasp. Huge WWE names, such as Hulk Hogan, Macho Man Randy Savage, Mean Gene Okerlund, Razor Ramon, Kevin Nash, Bobby The Brain Heenan, and many others left him in the dust and signed with rival promotion WCW. In the 1980s, everybody knew most of the top competition was in the WWE. WCW had some huge stars, but the vast majority of big names resided within the confines of WWE. That's why WWE crushed WCW during the 80s. It's like choosing between watching the NBA and European League Basketball. Any basketball player worth anything plays in the NBA. Likewise, any wrestler in the 80s who was worth anything (with the exception of Ric Flair and Dusty Rhodes) fought in WWE. The European League Basketball championship is a cute l...

Les Miserables is Mealy-Mouthed Liberal Dribble

One of the most flamboyant sensations that you will ever see in your life is the musical Les Miserables. It has stunningly awesome and powerful ballads that will shake you to your core! The costumes, scenery and acting - in a real Broadway showing - are some of the finest you'll ever see in your entire life. Only an actor of the highest caliber, who can sing like there is no tomorrow, can pull off a production of this. Les Miserables should only be reserved for the best of the best. Amateur thespians should not attempt this. They'll only embarrass themselves if they try! The story is an emotional rollercoaster filled with twists and turns, political and social commentary, and a very real outlook on life and some of the cruelties of the world we live in. Women will surely weep after the curtain call. Men will feel goosebumps when walking out of the theatre. It has such raw and potent emotion that cannot be fully explained unless you lay witness to it. Many consider it the great...

The King and I Was The WORST Musical of All Time

I recently had the displeasure of seeing the notorious musical The King and I ! Countless people had told me many great things about it, so I was really expecting to enjoy myself while viewing it. The truth is - I ABSOLUTELY HATED IT! This dreck was nothing but feminist propaganda. This filth, which I had to sit through three hours of, was dripping with an anti-male agenda. I'm sure it is loved by intelligentsia. But you know me - I'm far from an intellectual elite. I despise the intellectual elites! When you read a Sherwin Stern blog, you know you're not listening to a university professor Pharisee. You're listening to a man who knows what he's talking about. I'm sure that once again my opinions will make me the laughing stock of those who deem themselves as smart . But I must tell the truth - I must not let idiocy go unchecked! People should know that The King and I is the worst musical of all time! It starts off innocently enough. A British school teacher ...

Shakespeare Was The WORST Playwright of all Time

As a writer myself, I am absolutely outraged when people say Shakespeare was a good playwright. Shakespeare was a bum! His stories sucked! They were derivative, boring, unrealistic (and not in a good way), difficult to understand, unrelatable, cliché, and filled with dog doo! There are many people who wish they could come forward and say these things but are too afraid that they'll be discredited as idiots if they try to share their true feelings about William Shakespeare. There are many university English professors, theatre teachers and acting coaches who wish they could come out of the closet and say they hate the work of Shakespeare. Unfortunately these certain individuals have been bullied by their colleagues and peers to stay silent. In the realm of intelligentsia it's a huge cardinal sin to admit that you hate Shakespeare. College professors are always bullying their fellow staff members. Anybody who goes against the grain on university campuses is seen as a heretic. An...

Stanislavski Was The WORST Acting Teacher of All Time

When it comes to modern acting there is no other name that is quite as revered as Konstantin Stanislavski. His "system" is revered among many actors and acting teachers. His influence gave way to modern method acting. Lee Strasberg helped bring Stanislavski's "system" to America, and he expanded on it to created the method acting style that we're accustomed to today. I will not deny that actors trained in Stanislavski's system win the majority of acting awards. I will not deny the fact that many of the greatest actors of all time use Stanislavski's system. I will not deny that actors trained in Stanislavski's system usually give excellent performances. But all of this comes with a great cost! A new breed of actor came about in the 1950s and 1960s that broke away from the classical orthodox style and ushered in more "realism." Classically trained acting, in the eyes of many, seemed way too fake and disingenuous compared to the uber-rea...

Super Smash Bros Ultimate Will Make The Nintendo Switch UNSTOPPABLE

Since the N64, Nintendo has been the one looking up. Even though the N64 was a fantastic console, unfortunately many people liked the PlayStation better. During the mid-late 90s the Sony PlayStation reigned supreme. I'm not saying that the PlayStation was a bad system - in fact, I actually admire the PlayStation. It's definitely true that Sony outwitted Nintendo, and they modernized much more quickly than Nintendo did. While Nintendo was still using outdated cartridges, Sony put their games on CDs. CDs had a lot more space on them than the cartridges that Nintendo was using. This meant that PlayStation games had better graphics and more complex games. It also meant that they could use voice acting, and developers for the PlayStation could create great stories that utilized voice acting and awesome cut-scenes. I can actually see why people enjoyed the PlayStation more, and why it ultimately sold more consoles than the N64. Even though the N64 actually had more legendary games - ...
